Porlock Common in Winter
Image No 300-5589a
Winter on Exmoor, and the pink rays of the newly risen sun glance the hillside above Hawk Coombe picking out every undulation in the ground profile. Yes, you have to be an early riser to catch scenes like this but the good news is that sunrise in winter is comparatively late so you don't have to get up ridiculously early to see or photograph it. You do, however, have to make the effort to be there in the first place regardless of how cold it might be.
