One of my favourite views in all of the Lake District is that of looking down the valley of Wasdale. The most famous view is of Great Gable standing majestically at the end of the lake flanked by Yewbarrow on the left and Lingmell on the right.
In this image the emphasis in on Yewbarrow as it was in deep shadow, while snow clad Great Gable remained bathed in shunshine.
Note how the bracken goes deep red in autumn and remains like this throughout the winter.
