Late summer on Porlock Common and the whole landscape is awash with the purple flowers of wild heather in bloom. Sadly it's not possible to see it like this now as the whole area has been burnt to encourage regeneration. Not sure how long it's supposed to take but I haven't seen colour here for many years.
