Porlock Common
Image No 300-1718a
You would think that Exmoor, having some of the highest land in southern England, would see thick hoar frost and snow quite often, but in reality it is fairly rare. This is only one of two occasions when I have witnessed a frost such as the one seen here on Porlock Common. That's not to say it hasn't happened at other times but as a frequent visitor I should have a pretty good chance of seeing it but I rarely do.
Luckily I was here to capture this image lit by glorious winter sunshine. It didn't last long and quickly evaporated once the sun got to it.
