The usual view of Castle Rock in the Valley of Rocks is the one looking down the valley at it's conical profile. This view shows the back edge of the Rock rising vertically from the coastline below.
Some images are planned, others are not. This one wasn't, I just happened to be there and the weather was fine, so I took the shot. The two figures add scale to the dramatic vertical face of the cliffs, and the whole scene typifies a summer's day on the north Devon coastline.
